Moving Forward with Gynecologic Cancer Education

Our Way Forward is a call-to-action that encourages people to rethink what they know about gynecologic cancers, such as endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer.

Here, we talk about the signs and symptoms, the importance of genetic testing, and considerations to help navigate the physical and emotional challenges, like sexual health and fertility, that these cancers may bring.

Our Way Forward was created with input by the community, for the community. In 2024, GSK conducted a survey with The Harris Poll to better understand the experiences of people with gynecologic cancers. The research was conducted online by The Harris Poll on behalf of GSK among 102 U.S. women ages 18+ who have been diagnosed with gynecologic cancers. The survey results helped identify areas of unmet need, such as:

Barriers to care

Gaps in information and understanding

Emotional burden of treatment and care

Low utilization of patient support

The survey revealed areas where more can be done to truly support gynecologic patients and their loved ones.

of U.S. patients surveyed want to know more about what types of test options (e.g., biomarker testing, tumor genetic testing, or genomic profile testing) are available to help inform their cancer treatment.

of U.S. patients surveyed felt embarrassed or judged as a result of their gynecologic cancer.

of U.S. patients surveyed did not want to trouble their loved one(s)/caregiver(s) with their needs.

of U.S. patients surveyed felt unsure about what to expect after their treatments.
